AGM June 2014
The Bromley Methodist Church concourse provided a very friendly setting for the AGM on 10th June 2014, to which we were very pleased to welcome our patron, Kathleen Hankinson.
Sinclair Stayner, Chair, thanked the committee for their dedicated work this year, supporting -or challenging- different organisations and Jane Evans, Treasurer, reported that the Phyllis Mary Kither Bequest Fund has supported three people's courses of study this year.
It is now four years since the retirement of the specialist Social Worker for the Deaf and no one has been appointed to take his place. Families miss the specialist support. Deaf Access Trustees spoke about the cut in council funding.
Bromley Chain welcomes more committee members and Deaf Access welcome further links with Bromley Chain and parents of children in the HI Service and at Griffins.
Following the serious discussion, friends could catch up over refreshments and we thank our Interpreters, Theresa and David; Lipspeaker Rosalind.
We are very sorry to be saying goodbye to Erica, who is resigning from the committee for health reasons. Thank you Erica for your service as joint treasurer and for all the sound advice you have given Bromley Chain since joining the committee in 2008.
